Southern Region World Travel Stipend Fundraiser

Over the last 15 years, the Southern Region has provided 231 solo dancers and Dance Drama teams with total grants of $136,000 to help them defray the travel expenses they incur to compete in the CLRG World Championships (Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne). The number of awards began with five World Qualifiers. In 2015 the Region added an award to help the Southern Region Dance Drama Champion team compete in the World Championships. In 2023 we are awarding $500 stipends to 24 solo competitors and a Dance Drama Team.

In 1999, the individual CLRG-certified Irish Dancing teachers and adjudicators living and teaching in the Southeast Region of the USA incorporated the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America-Southern Region (the Southern Region). In 2000 the Internal Revenue Service recognized the Southern Region as a publicly supported charity as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
