World Qualifiers Travel Stipend: In 2007, the teachers of the Southern Region decided to financially assist five of our World Qualifiers with $500 for each dancer, to go towards travel expenses to the World Championships in 2008. At the 2007 Oireachtas in Atlanta, there were 161 World Qualifiers. Five dancers' names were chosen at random. The recipients and their respective schools are:

• Christina Marchall, Innisfree
• Delaney O'Shea, Drake
• Ana Ayala, McCafferty
• Kincaid Stringer, Irish Dance Center
• Savannah McHale, Drake

This is the first year for the stipend and we plan to continue this award for years to come and aid more dancers in attending the prestigious World Championships and for representing the Southern Region and North America.
